Summer Aid (Main Campus)
Main campus undergraduates who wish to utilize financial aid during the summer must:
- Complete the 2023-2024 FAFSA
- Submit all missing documents requested by the Office of Financial Assistance

- Students will be 不ified via email after the Summer Application is processed, or if additional information is needed.

联邦基金
佩尔助学金: If eligible, you may receive a prorated amount based on your enrollment.
Federal Student Loans: If you are enrolled in 6+ credit hours for the summer, you may utilize Federal Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loans, 如果符合条件. There is an annual limit as to how much you may borrow, so loan funds used in the summer will reduce amounts available in the fall/spring semesters.
Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan: Parents of dependent students can apply for a Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan to assist with costs associated with summer, as long as the student is enrolled in 6+ credit hours.
Summer Enrollment Requirements for Federal Loans

本科 students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours in order to be eligible for federal loans. Enrollment does 不 have to be in one term but can be spread out amongst the various summer terms (e.g., Summer I and Summer II). There are consequences for dropping or withdrawing for summer courses, so students with questions about how changing enrollment during summer will affect their aid should contact our office.
联邦半工半读的: Contracted work-study students may work beginning July 1 if they are enrolled at least half-time during the summer OR are enrolled at least half-time during the fall semester.

Alternative loan funds are available for summer, but we urge you to research all possibilities for scholarships, 奖助金, work-study and federal loans before borrowing from an alternative loan program.
国家基金
State funds, such as the Texas Equalization Grant (TEG), are 不 available for the summer.
机构基金
Institutional funds such as the, UIW Academic Scholarship, are 不 available for the summer. Instead, UIW offers a discounted tuition rate during the summer.
Student must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at the end of Spring 2023 in order to be eligible for summer financial aid. For more information, please visit our SAP网页.
